Chapter 6-10 Levinson makes many valid, yet relatable points that speak to today’s technology age. Social media and blogging have many similarities, but blogging gives the users beyond what they may want out of these kinds of media. Blogging absolutely gives the user the ability to control all aspects of their use and what they want to convey to the public. The user is free and able to reach many different public figures depending on their use of articulation. For example normal people cannot usually reach celebrities, but many do more often on blogs than social media. The prevalence of negative comments getting a reaction may be problematic. Celebrities and many other public figures rarely react to positive comments they are getting from common people, but negativity seems to get a reaction that everyone would want. Why? This could be a segway into cyber bullying and the glorification that comes with it. This chapter gave rather interesting insights to how we conduct ourselves within these new medias.
